American Academy of Ballet’s 2026/27 South African auditions for prestigious New York Summer School
The American Academy of Ballet’s nationwide tour, which offers South African dancers a rare opportunity to secure admission and compete for exclusive scholarships to train on a global stage alongside peers from more than 20 countries, is drawing to a close.
Talented local dancers are invited to audition for the highly anticipated AAB Summer School of Excellence 2027 which is held at the Purchase College campus in New York. Selected dancers will spend an unforgettable summer in New York immersed in a world-class training programme.
The comprehensive curriculum covers a diverse range of disciplines including Ballet Technique and Variation Coaching, Partnering and Neoclassical styles, Musical Theatre and on-stage Performance opportunities. For the duration of the programme students will reside safely on the secure Purchase College campus. The all-inclusive experience covers professional dance studios, an on-site theatre, comfortable dormitory accommodation and all daily meals.
Dancers will have the opportunity to train under internationally renowned teachers and choreographers, forge lifelong global friendships and experience the cultural magic of New York.

- Cape Town: 7 November | Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck, 52 Kloof St, CBD | 10am | All ages
