GATHA is a tourism association ensuring product packaging and marketing of tourism products, services and activities to stimulate local economic development within the greater Alexandra area. The association was established as a non profit company representing tour operators, tourist guides, hospitality establishments, travel agencies, events organizers, skills development facilitators, arts culture & heritage. Discover and experience the oldest and first township where the late Tata Nelson Mandela lived in the early 1940’s when he was still practicing as a lawyer. Meet the people of Alex and learn about its culture. Chauffeur-driven, bicycle or walking tours are led from Gautrain stations or hotels around Sandton, Joburg City, Rosebank and Midrand. Guests will be accompanied by an accredited Tourist Guide.
