This week Eighteen13 Boutique Wine Store is hosting Kiara Scott, and she'll be hosting the evening herself.
If the name doesn't ring a bell yet, the wines will. Kiara is the winemaker who built Brookdale's reputation over five years in Paarl. In 2024 she was crowned Diners Club Winemaker of the Year for the Brookdale Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2022, one of only two women to take the title in 44 years. She'd already been the youngest female head winemaker in the country when Brookdale appointed her at 26.
She's now head winemaker at Hazendal in Stellenbosch, and this is the first proper look at where she's taking it. New wines, a clear new direction, and she'll be the one walking you through it.
Winemakers at this level don't often pour their own wines in a room this size.
